Introducing the ultimate radio combo-pack, big enough for the serious DX crowd. Take your IC-7000, FT-2900R, Yaesu FT-100, ICOM IC-706MK2G, or similarly sized mobile radio outside and put it to work.  The DXpedition Pack is combined with your choice of the Radio Box or the Radio Pouch to carry your radio in padded, secure comfort inside the full sized daypack. Now you can carry your radio and power supply along with the antennas, tuner, cable, wire, splitters, and miscellaneous accessories, and still have room for your lunch and a jacket! Models are also available to fit the larger FT-897 or the smaller FT-817.

Radio Box shown with Yaesu FT-100 and optional PowerPort power supply (Part# HPP8A)

The RadioBox. This is a separate, fully detachable padded case that isolates and protects the radio and optional PowerPort power supply from all of the other gear that you need to carry in your pack.

bullet

Quick release buckles give easy access to your radio.

bullet

Inside, your radio can be secured in a number of different positions with adjustable Velcro straps.

bullet

The Radio Box has a padded divider that separates the radio compartment from it’s power source. The divider is fully adjustable (or removable altogether) to accommodate different sized components.

bullet

Wire pass-through holes have fully finished edges and make connections a snap.

bullet

Two sizes are available for the Radio Box:
bullet

Standard: 17¼"L x 7¾"W x 3¼" D*  (440mm x 200mm x 80mm) fits any mobile radio such as the IC-7000, IC-706-MKIIG or the FT-100.

bullet

Wide:  17¼"L x 8½"W x 3¼"D* (440mm x 240mm x 90mm) is designed to fit the new Yaesu FT-897.

*These are "soft" dimensions. This case is designed of laminated polyethylene board, closed cell foam and nylon which offers both impact protection and a degree of flexibility.   Therefore, if your radio is slightly larger in one dimension or another, the pack can still fit quite well.

bullet

The semi-rigid case construction of the RadioBox is firmly secured into the DXpedition Pack by wide Velcro, but is easy to remove and carry by its nylon webbing handle, if you just want to carry the basics. The Radio Box can be opened and used as a perfectly serviceable operating platform outside of the pack. It keeps the radio clean and off the ground.

For the Yaesu FT-817, you have the option to order the Radio Pouch (the central portion of the Worldpouch) in place of the Radio Box. Its custom-designed fit, and optional Worldpouch power supply are perfect for this mini-mobile. It's belt clips slide onto rugged webbing on the interior of the DXpedition Pack,  and the pouch is further secured by wide Velcro.

Worldpouch center pouch black.jpg (14948 bytes)The Radio Pouch is constructed of well-padded nylon, with special front pockets to hold the antenna and the optional PowerPort 2.3 amp hour 12V power supply kit. The back of the pouch has two steel belt clips to secure it firmly to your belt or to the interior of the DXpedition Pack. If you ever need to transport your Radio Pouch outside of the DXpedition Pack in foul weather, a fully waterproof rain cover is included, and fits neatly into its own pocket inside the pouch. The mic-hanger can be clipped wherever is most convenient. Your microphone locks into the mic-hanger and stays firmly in place until you need it.
